Post 6: Postgraduate Studies
When I finished school it was very hard to me to make a decision between studying music or film studies. Finally I took the second one, but I never left music. I continued with singing classes and I studied musical composition for two years while I was at university. Now that I’m close to the end of this career, I’ve been thinking about studying a second one, which would be singing interpretation, because I’m still young and curious about learning and getting more tools to be a great artist. I would like to study this in a professional institute in Santiago, called Projazz. I like it there because I had the chance to go when I took the exams four years ago, and it was a really nice place, full of talented people and good vibes. They have a focus on teaching jazz music and that seems really interesting to me. Something that really inspires me are the subjects I would have: jazz ensemble, popular music ensemble, acting, dancing, music history, jazz history, vocal improvisation… All sounds very nice. And, of course, I would have a lot of hours of singing, every semester, and I’d spend more hours practicing so I would be in a good shape to sing. This institution is located near Baquedano subway station. It’s not too close to my house, but I can imagine me cycling everyday, it could be challenging. Fortunately my family has offered to pay me this second career, but also I’d like to take a part time work to help in that mision.
