Post 10: English Language Challenges

I already studied English at school very intensely, but I had not spoken or had classes for four years. So the experience of having this subject has been very nutritious, the work in class was fun and also I’ve met very nice people who I didn’t know before. Using the blogs has been very challenging because I’m good at speaking or thinking in English, but I felt very insecure at the time of writing words. A lot of times I had a word in my mind and then I wrote it but I wasn’t sure, so I searched the right way and I was right, I was just very insecure of this activity because there’s been years since I didn’t write in English. Also it has been interesting the exercise of writing about me, about my life, what I like or what I feel, I think I’ve got to know myself better. I really need to improve my grammar and orthography. My plan to do this is to watch all my series with English subtitles, because I believe it’s a great exercise to improve everything, also the listening and speaking, the sound of people talking sticks in your head when you are a Netflix addict as me. Another idea I have is using Duolingo, it’s a very fun app for practicing languages. Outside the English class I use English sometimes at the office because there’s a lot of foreign people, but I don’t work directly with them so I talk to them just a few times. Also I read English all the time because my softwares to edit and do color grading are setted in this language, I already learned how to use them and it’s great because I am able now to use this editing universal nomenclature.
